Placing a small scope into your airway allows for visual examination of the lungs. Abnormal tissue can be biopsied, and areas of infection and bleeding can be identified. We also perform some specialized bronchoscopic techniques including airway ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy.
Tunneled Pleural Catheters
Some patients with lung cancer develop fluid around the lungs which must be drained frequently. The placement of a catheter into the chest allows patients to have fewer hospital visits and more freedom. Drainage of the fluid can be done at home by the patient or a caregiver.
